All,

This is an update that impacts about 75% of the teams playing this weekend.

Note: Decision on 15u division will be made later today

1)  The STAR Center is open, and we will proceed with hosting teams this weekend.  Teams at the STAR Center will being play at 10am on Saturday (doors open at 9am) and 9am on Sunday (doors open at 8am).  We are hopeful the delayed start times will help with travel concerns (which will primarily be on Saturday morning).

So, the 16U and the 17/18U Saturday teams will be good to go at The STAR (as scheduled) starting at 10am.  The 12U and 13U divisions will be good for a 9am start on Sunday.  All good for the teams playing at The STAR Center.

Any teams who do not feel safe driving, notify us by Friday noon and we will refund your entry

2) We are NOT going to use The Luke this weekend.  The incoming wintery mix and freezing temperatures will cause too much of a disruption of play.  We currently have a crew on top of The Luke putting on a new roof, but they will not be done in time to stop the weather from messing things up.  This means, unfortunately, the 14U division is needing to be cancelled this weekend.  This was the Sunday division being played at The Luke.  We will begin the process of refunding your entry fees. Please pass along this all involved.  

3) We are going to use High Point Academy (HPA) both Saturday and Sunday.  HPA is the school connected to The Luke.  The start times will be the same at The STAR Center - 10am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday.  So, the 8 17/18U Sunday division teams will still play as scheduled.

Inclement Weather Policy

This policy outlines the rights and responsibilities for the Region, individuals, teams, and Tournament Directors involved with sanctioned tournaments when weather conditions become a concern. All must realize that they bear a monetary risk when hosting and/or entering tournaments during the winter months. However, generally speaking, the Host will make every effort to hold a tournament. For bad weather that strikes one to two days before the tournament, the tournament WILL BE HELD unless teams are otherwise notified (canceled tournament information will be on the HOST and/or region web page and an attempt will be made via email to notify all teams).

Considerations to cancel will be made based on weather at the location of the facilities.  Refunds will not be provided  if the tournament is held based on weather conditions at the sites.  Refunds can not be issued because weather is bad from where team is coming from.  If the event is cancelled, pro-rata refunds will be issued. 

We try to make decisions by 3pm day before event begins.
